Yes. Built in the UK for British weather, the AW Series heat pump extracts heat in temperatures down to -5°C. If it drops lower, the built-in 1.5 kW electric immersion automatically steps in so your hot water supply remains completely uninterrupted.

What is an Air Source Heat Pump?
An air source heat pump (ASHP) is a low-carbon heating system that extracts heat from the outside air to provide heating and domestic hot water. It uses electricity to transfer heat rather than generate it, making it an energy-efficient alternative to traditional boilers.
What is an AW Series indoor heat pump and how does it work?
The AW Series is a commercial air source heat pump, it combines an all-in-one heat pump with integrated domestic hot water storage. It draws outside air through discreet wall ducting, extracts the thermal energy to heat your domestic hot water and vents the cool air back outside.
Does the AW Series heat my radiators or underfloor heating?
No. The AW Series is designed exclusively for domestic hot water (DHW) supply. It replaces or upgrades your hot water cylinder to provide efficient hot water for taps, showers and baths, operating independently of your central heating system.
Does the AW Series need to be installed outside?
No. Unlike traditional air source heat pumps, the AW Series requires no external fan unit or ground footprint. It uses 150mm air ducting directly to an exterior wall, making it ideal for properties or extensions with space or planning restrictions.
How energy efficient is the AW Series?
The AW Series carries an A++ Energy Efficiency Class.
What temperature can the hot water reach?
The heat pump efficiently heats stored water up to 60°C on its own. For legionella protection cycles or extra demand, the integrated 1.5 kW immersion heater can boost temperatures up to 75°C.
How noisy is the indoor unit during operation?
The AW Series is engineered for ultra-quiet indoor operation, operating as low as 32.5 dB(A) (similar to a soft whisper). It also features a variable speed fan mode to optimize performance and sound levels.
What comes included with the AW Series unit?
Each unit includes a factory-fitted Temperature & Pressure (T&P) relief valve, an unvented inlet control group, a tundish and an expansion vessel. External air ducting is specified separately to fit your property’s precise layout.
